The Winter ’11 collection from Vanishing Elephant continues the casual, considered approach that has earned the label it’s name while paying homage to the folk rock heroes of 60’s and 70’s America – Creedence Clearwater, Neil Young, The Band, and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

This season sees a decidedly earth toned colour palette of deep yellow, red and greens seen on harder wearing fabrics and paired with an increased focus on pattern, vivid zig zags, candy stripes and heavy paisley for a thoroughly vintaged feel.

A mixture of pre-loved and knitted jersey, boiled wools, treated leather and washed linen mix with Vanishing Elephant’s classic minimal aesthetic of original fit cotton drill chinos, fine cotton poplins and brushed desert boots, creating a broader mix of wearable pieces that showcase a more effortless style.

The store will offer the best of Vanishing Elephant's classic pieces and a select offering of the seasonal fashion pieces from each collection.

Vanishing Elephant are doing there bit for the Japan Earthquake.

Until midnight next Monday 28th 50% of all sales will go to the Australian Red Cross appeal.

The mood changes at Wrangler and becomes a lot darker with the release of the Autumn Winter 2011 range.

Keeping the strong references to the 70s, Wrangler has moved on from the sun-soaked campaign images for Spring Summer 10/11 to a colder and gloomier atmosphere as we head into Autumn.

The styles are relaxed and casual with denim being the key element.

The tobe Launch party was on held in Wellington on Friday night.

It was a chance to enjoy some free booze and try on a pair of kicks from the new range.

The range this year is aptly named 'Mate, it's Magenta' - looking at the new designs this year it's obvious to see why. This is the first range that they have included womens sizing...

So ladies you are in luck.

Just like last year, by the end of the night tobe could be seen being repped left right and centre...

Decked out in new kicks meant that when Kidz in Space played later in the night - there was no shortage of siick 'dance shoes'.

Now usually greenstone can be a little bit conservative and have a certain souvenir quality but, Jacob Sheehan uses hand carving skills to reveal this stone in a whole new light, allowing it to break out of the 'traditional' realms its been confined to over the years, and take its place on the streets and hopefully soon on the NZ catwalk!

The Soulland aw10 collection was born on a journey that lead Soulland’s head designer Silas Adler through Scandinavia, past snow-covered mountains, dense forests, and wind-swept beaches. The contrasts and similarities found in the Danish, Norwegian and Swedish nature now serve as the main inspiration for the Soulland aw10 collection. The Walk is a reference to this journey, a journey through contrasts.

The collection this season is inspired by moods and emotions from various sources, firstly being somewhat of a reaction to itself, a departure from the dark. Secondly, inspired by the photo by Yves Klein (Leap Into The Void). The range is somewhat of a leap of faith for Chroniclesofnever, a movement into a new creative space a new direction in fabrications and silhouettes and color, olives, khakis, browns, burnt reds, the color pallet pays homage to the earth tones.
